Route of Proposed SCE Power Lines

SCE has released plans to build a 220,000 volt power line from Visalia near Lovers Lane to Lemon Cove. One proposed route crosses Hwy 198 multiple times, has towers that are 120 to 140 feet tall, and passes about 300 feet from the meeting house. Partly due to our objections, other routes have been proposed, but the matter is not yet settled. This is a continuing concern for members of our meeting, as well as the Unitarians who meet in our meeting house, the community adjacent to the meeting house, and others.
