Reserving Space at the Urbana-Champaign Friends Meetinghouse
The Urbana-Champaign Friends Meeting makes its facilities available to groups or individuals who are
pursuing goals consistent with the values and testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
Floorplan
(actual furniture arrangement differs from that shown)
Our building consists of two main sections, which may be reserved
separately. The meeting room
is the large square room in which we hold our meetings for
worship. It is furnished with three benches and about 50 chairs
arranged in a square pattern, but could accomodate up to 100
people if additional chairs were brought in.
The Meeting Room
The commons area is a
rectangular room, equipped with sliding partitions which allow it to be
divided into three smaller rooms. One of these three rooms is
furnished for children, with a small table and chairs; the other two
rooms are furnished with five adult-sized tables with chairs, and an
upright piano.
The Commons Area
Adjacent to the commons area is a small, commercial-grade
kitchen. (Commercial food preparation requires a license; special
arrangements may be necessary for use of the kitchen.)
As a non-profit religious organization, we do not charge rent for the
use of our facilities; however we do suggest donations in specific
amounts, proportional to the amount of space being used, and the length
of time for which it is reserved. For more information, please
see
our Information and Policies and Use Application.
