The Urbana-Champaign Friends Meetinghouse

Our meetinghouse was constructed 2003-2004 by Perkins Construction.  It was designed by Potter Design Group of Madison, Wisconsin, in consultation with James Warfield, Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois.

The meetinghouse was awarded a Heritage Award, in the category of Historically Respectful Design, by the Champaign County Preservation and Conservation Association, 4 mo. 24, 2005.

8 mo. 15, 2004: The first meeting in the new meetinghouse
6 mo. 17, 2004: Parking lot is paved; antique benches
4 mo. 18, 2004: Siding and painting are done; not much left
1st mo. 2004: Plumbing and wiring is in, siding and painting begun
11 mo. 2, 2003: Walls and Roof are Done, Windows are In
9 mo. 7, 2003: Walls are up for the Commons Rooms
8 mo. 17, 2003: Slab is poured, framing is up
