The Nabucco Gas Pipeline:
A Chance for the EU to push for Change in Turkmenistan
The report urges the EU to make hydrocarbon revenue management a priority in its relations with Turkmenistan. It should do this by seeking to engage the Turkmen government in the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), a scheme which addresses resource revenue management issues and provides protected space for independent civil society groups to operate.

A call to bring the world together
On February 28, 2008 Karen Armstrong won the TED Prize and made a wish: for help creating, launching and propagating a Charter for Compassion. Since that day, thousands of people have contributed to the process so that on November 12, 2009 the Charter was unveiled to the world.

A number of Quakers have supported the charter with their signatures; Jean Zaru, Clerk of Ramallah Monthly Meeting and a prominent supporter of nonviolence in the occupied Palestinian Territories, has supported this initiative and given an interview which you see at this link:
