Children’s Epistle, OVYM 2005

Greetings to Friends everywhere,

Ten school-aged Young Friends met at the 185^th session of Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting at Wilmington College in Wilminton, Ohio, from July 27^th to 31^st, 2005 to consider the theme of “Beyond Tolerance: Seeking Spiritual Common Ground.”

We hared many concerns. We are concerned that we are losing our popularity. We are concerned that some people eat beans and rice every day. We are concerned that there are not more Quaker vegans, and we are concerned that there are not enough glow-in-the-dark beads.

We shared many hopes for the future. We hope we are not homeless. We hope we can donate money to the poor so they can eat pizza. We hope there is a talent show next year at Yearly Meeting, and we hope we can come back to Yearly Meeting next year.
