What have we as an ad hoc committee been doing this past few months?

     We have looked at our Mission Statement: The mission of First Friends Church is to create an atmosphere of love
     and caring in action by nurturing and challenging our church family. This will be experienced through prayer, worship,
     education, and supportive fellowship. We will continually reach out to promote Christian living as a way of life in our
     community and world.

Our interpretation of the Gospel affirms the reality of the living Christ here and now, and we believe the transforming power of
the risen Lord is available to all without ritual or ceremony. We seek God's guidance in our endeavor to fulfill our commitment to
this mission.

     We have done brainstorming
     Looked forward and backward
     Looked at various ideas:
          Facilities
               Retirement Center
               Day Care Center
               Multi-purpose Center
          Various additional activities
               Youth programs
               Store-front ministries
               Van and/or bus ministries
               Multiple services for worship
     Evaluated our current situation - with regards to people, temperament, and finances
     Dreamed about our future
     Asked the question "How do we go about growing new disciples for Christ?"
     Asked "What should our church look like in 5 - 10 years?"
          Congregation needs to have a clear vision and commitment about the future
          Congregation needs to be guided in that quest by the following criteria:
               Help to open multiple "doors" into the church
               Continue to attract young families and youth to our Meeting
               Meet the needs of our current congregation
               Take advantage of new technologies that can help meet these goals
               Reach out beyond our walls to the community in evangelism and social services
