will be moving to 
Sidwell Friends Upper and Middle Schools

Our last day at our meeting house in McLean will be September 21, 2008. 

The school is an easy 12-minute drive from our meeting house. Free parking is available in a parking garage on the campus. A drawing of the school grounds is printed on the reverse. Maps and information are available online:  http://www.sidwell.edu/about_sfs/maps_ms_us.asp.

Sidwell Friends School has a lovely Quaker  meeting room, large enough to accommodate us, as well as many classrooms suitable for our First Day School, lovely grounds that we can use for potlucks and children's activities, and an indoor cafeteria for inclement-weather potlucks. We expect to be in residence here for about six to eight months.  

Our times of worship will remain the same while we are at Sidwell: Meeting for Worship on First Days at 10:00 a.m., with the meeting room open for worship beginning at 9:30. Meetings for Business will be on the second First Day of the month, beginning at 10:30 A.M. and continuing until approximately noon. Nursery care is provided for young children every First Day, starting at 10:00 a.m. Older children attend Meeting for Worship with their families until 10:30 and then leave for an assembly. First Day School follows from 11:00 a.m. until noon.

The RE Committee will host an inter-generational back to school picnic during second hour on Sunday, 9/7.  This will be a time for everyone in the meeting to catch up after the summer, and for our new teachers to have a brief orientation and pick up materials.  (Classes will start 9/14.)  Please bring food to share.

Ministry and worship plans a caravan to Sidwell following the picnic, leaving about noon.  Families are welcome, but there will be no formal program for young people.  Meeting for worship and First Day school will meet at Langley Hill through 9/21, and move to Sidwell Friends School on 9/28.

Langley Hill Friends Meeting will meet in the Kogod Arts Center (#7 blue arrow) The way in will be clearly marked. 

The entrance to the Sidwell Friends School garage is directly across Wisconsin Avenue from Rodman Street, and there is a traffic light there.  (Follow green arrow to parking). 

Handicapped parking and parking for unloading supplies are available in the loop drive (yellow arrow) in front of the gray stone building that looks like a house.  This is immediately south of Rodman Street.

Parking

Visitors are welcome to park in the parking structure at 3845 Wisconsin Avenue NW just to the north of Zartman House. The entrance to the parking structure is directly across Wisconsin Avenue from Rodman Street.
