The Progressive Secretary

The Progressive Secretary is a mailing service for progressive activists. It attempts to counterbalance the highly organized lobbying done by the political right. When you sign up, you select issues in which you are interested and the frequency you wish to be contacted. Then, the Progressive Secretary sends you suggested letters at the interval you have selected. Other members or groups have often suggested the content and proposed recipients of these messages. You may modify the message, send it as is, or skip any one. You respond by email and the Progresive Secretary does the work, letting you know when your message has been sent.

It really is an easy way to express your opinion on a variety of issues. Try it.

ON A NATIONAL SCALE

Progressive Secretary thanks Katha Pollitt for recommending us as a good Progressive site. Her December column in "The Nation" ("Pennies in the Hat,") endorsed Progressive Secretary as a valuable way to combat the right wing's organizing ability.

She wrote, "There is no easier way to make your opinion known -- one cynic of my acquaintance compared Progressive Secretary to spinning a prayer wheel. Hey, right-wingers out-e-mail progressives many times over, and look at the way the country's going, maybe they're on to something."
