Position Summary:
Manage the planning and execution of the $3 million
capital campaign to construct a new meetinghouse
for Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting (“CHFM”)
on East Mermaid Lane in the Chestnut Hill section
of Philadelphia, PA. Collaborate closely with the
campaign Chairs, campaign consultants, campaign-related
volunteers, Finance Committee, Treasurer, and the
part-time Meeting Secretary. For more information

James Bradbury Associates, James Turrell, and Andropogon
Associates are the design team for the new meetinghouse.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success with motivating and supporting
volunteers.

Organizational skill: bringing order to and
keeping track of detail-oriented projects.

Verbal communications including telephone, in-person,
and groups.
- Written communications including email, letters,
and reports.
- Ability to learn quickly then function independently
and under pressure.
- Experience working with committee process such
as Quaker or consensus decision-making.
- Available for day, evening, and weekend hours
as well as local travel as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years development or related experience;
strong interest in fund raising.
- Strong research skills with an ability to link
funder’s interests with campaign needs.
- Experience working with nonprofit boards of
directors, donors, and committees.
- Familiarity with Quaker faith, practices, terminology
and typical meeting life.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,
Quickbooks, and Google Aps.
- Energetic, responsive, flexible team member
with a sense of humor.
- Bachelors degree.
Essential Functions:
- Manage master work-plan, periodically identifying
and resolving issues related to goals, objectives,
strategies, and activities as well as updating
progress and calendar regularly.
- Implement prospect reviews, facilitate donor
research, and maintain database accurately.
- Prepare effective donor communications, including
giving proposals, fundraising collateral, and
acknowledgement letters.
- Support solicitors with their cultivation and
solicitation activities and monitor solicitations.
- Manage gift management, donor acknowledgement,
and donor recognition protocols.
- Coordinate campaign, annual, and endowment giving
and any combined appeals.
- Write and submit grants, appeal packages, and
other applications.
- Coordinate campaign-related events, newsletter,
and other public relations initiatives.
- Report at least weekly to Campaign Chairs, meet
twice monthly with campaign consultants, meet
monthly with the Campaign Committee, and meet
as necessary with the Personnel Committee.
- Collaborate with the Meeting Secretary, Finance
Committee, or Treasurer to maintain accurate
pledge records, projected cash flow reports,
and the fundraising line item in the project
budget.
- Coordinate and arrange all meetings with donors,
volunteers, and consultants regarding the capital
campaign.
