In the historic practice of the Religious Society of Friends, we sit
quietly together in expectant silence to know the presence of the
Divine Spirit and to wait for that “still small
voice” of the living God to lead us. There is no prearranged
program or outward sacrament, but all share in the ministry of silence
or, if so led, in simple spoken ministry.
core belief is that God
endows each human being with a measure of the Divine Spirit, or Inward
Light. As we grow in awareness of this Light and submit ourselves to
its leadings, we are enabled to live in conformity to the will of God.
We have no formal creed but embrace the testimonies which Friends have
practiced since our beginnings over 350 years ago, namely: simplicity,
peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship of the earth.
