Meeting opened with the reading of a Query by the Clerk: As difficult
problems arise, are we careful to meet them in a spirit of love and
humility with minds open for creative solutions?

The minutes of the March 21 meeting for business were approved as
 presented.

Friends were reminded that the first Sunday of May, May 2 is the day
persons with children are encouraged to bring their children and we are
committed to have a program for them..

The Clerk asked for comments about the Easter Meeting. Expressions ranged
from extreme praise for the program as planned and carried out in Battle
Point Park to expressions of mild discomfort with the participation in a
ritual which is a part of a native American tradition rather than our
 own.

Vanessa Julye's visit. The date was set for the potluck and discussion
with Vanessa Julye on Wednesday evening May 19 at the home of Roger Lauen
 and Jane McCotter, 17090 Agate ST. N.E. (206) 780 2400 beginning promptly
at 6:00 p.m. Roberta Wilson has prepared some queries to elicit
discussion on the topic of racism in Friends Meetings. Our meeting will
commit to donating $300.00 to the honorarium being offered Vanessa. There
will be a basket out at the meeting itself and individuals will be
invited to offer contributions to Agate Passage Meeting to help cover the
 cost.

Peace and Social Concerns: Katherine Keve, clerk of Peace and Social
Concerns announced that the second meeting of the committee to consider
mounting a Peace Camp will be next week. The following persons are
presently on the committee. Ed Sheridan, Katherine Keve, Zann and Craig
Jacobrown, Barbara Morrison, and Leyla Welkin.
Katherine introduced the flyer the committee has produced about the
Quaker Peace Testimony. Members and attenders will be encouraged to take
these and distribute them to persons who want to know about the Quaker
Peace Testimony. The altered copies will be sent to each person attending
the meeting on e-mail and it will be announced that we will be discussing
it at the May 16 meeting for business.

The Meeting closed with silence at 12:50 p.m..
