Minutes Business Meeting 
July 20, 2003


Meeting opened with Silent Worship

The Minutes of the May Meeting were corrected. 

1. The August 22 Meeting for a Seminar has been temporarily dropped

2. Ed Sheridan agreed to work with the State to change the official name of our Meeting to Agate
Passage Friends Meeting.

The Treasurer’s report suggested that we have about $2500 in the Treasury. It was noted that our assessment for NPYM will be coming up soon. 

Ministry and Counsel
Reported that they have agreed that their committee will not set the agenda for theBusiness Meeting. The committee’s convener will be Lorena Bruff

After discussion it was agreed to try Ministry and Counsel’s suggestion that we have monthly Business
Meetings on the third Sunday of the month at 11:30 beginning in September on a trial basis for six months. 

It was agreed that we shall continue to have potlucks six times a year, and that their main purpose will be for socializing and possibly for the Meeting’s education.

Membership: The following persons who have requested membership in Agate Passage Friends Meeting as transfers from University Friends Meeting were approved. Judy Brown, Craig Jacobrown, Bob Royce, Millie Royce, and Roberta Wilson.

Plans for the celebration of our Meeting’s becoming a Monthly Meeting on Saturday, August 23 at 4:00 on the Brown--Welkin beach, Bainbridge Island were discussed. Barbara Wolf, Katherine Keve, and Judy Brown are on the committee and will implement suggestions.

The Peace and Social Concerns committee through a website and discussion with our members and attenders will try to determine what individuals in the Meeting are doing in the Peace and Social Concerns area as Kathryn reported at the end of Meeting. Once they have made this survey they will also try to offer whatever support persons need in their varying concerns.

Housekeeping Volunteer Assignments: The following persons volunteered to open and close Seabold Community Hall on the following Sundays:

July 27, The Downs, 
August 3, Barbara Wolf, 
August 8, Judy Brown, 
August 17 Barbara Morrison.

Anne Laird and Katherine Keve have been investigating our Meeting's advertising and asked for feedback on the text. As for how often to advertise, how much it will cost, and which newspapers, we need more information..
