Meeting opened with Silent Worship
Elizabeth led us in understanding and reaffirming the
Interfaith Council's charter. The Council (Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap) was founded in 1997.
Our representatives were reaffirmed as Elizabeth Zwick and Barbara Wolf
with Kathryn Keve as backup . The meeting approved the annual group membership fee of $35.00. The Council
has 19 faith groups in it membership, and is very active on justice issues, especially regarding minorities, Native
Americans, gays and lesbians, and in confronting hate crimes. It also sponsors the annual Metaphors for Peace program directed by Barbara
Morrison.
Elizabeth reported for the Celebration and First Day School Committee.
The committee recently sent out a questionnaire and did some concurrent phone
calls. For older teenagers they are considering special service type activities. Quaker Work Camps have also been mentioned. The committee will
continue to meet and bring some recommendations at our next business meeting.
