1.
Meeting opened at 11:50 with a few moments of silent reflection
2.
Approval of minutes from November meeting.
Only one person had read the minutes so approval was deferred
to the next meeting.
3.
Annual Budget: Nancy Brantingham and
Barbara Morrison, co-treasurers, presented written copies of the
budget as discussed and proposed at the November meeting.
The 2004 budget was approved as presented.
Norm
commented that this was the most professionally presented budget he
had run across in all the non profit meetings he’s
attended. He also noted
the increase in the total budget which may require increased
donations.

The following additions were made:
-Vision

-A

Community Hall.
-Metaphors
for Peace will not be in December this year—the
date is not yet decided, maybe late January or Feb 2005.
-Question:
Will the potlucks be continued? None
are scheduled at this time.
7.
Ministry & Council Report: Lorena Bruff
Michael
announced the Feb 8 “presentation” at Grace Episcopal Church
--they are conducting a series on how other denominations worship.
Michael and Gayle Henry have committed to attend—we are all
invited to participate.
Norm
Down talked about the Pacific Northwest Quarterly Meeting pointing out
that it is both a gathering (twice a year) and an organization.
It is a time for Quakers from Washington and Idaho to meet,
socialize, take part in and reflect on spiritual programs or themes,
worship sharing and queries.
There is a Family night of dancing or a talent show.
A Meeting for Business is held to
address political and social concerns as well as Quaker questions.
Isolated
Friends have proposed that they be accepted as members of Quarterly
since this is the group they most regularly attend.
We discussed whether to take a
position on this and the following Minute was approved.
Gayle Henry noted that this means we may be called on for
additional responsibilities such as to serve on a Clearness Committee
or make more effort to attend Quarterly meetings.
The Minute is on the next page.
8.
Eric Moon, the Brinton visitor, will be visiting Bainbridge Island on
Feb 18. He will be
walking on the ferry so the current plan is pick
him up and reserve the Madrona clubhouse to visit with him.
This all needs to be confirmed. Michael will contact Eric
--> Moon. If the gathering is ok'd then Michael
will contact Millie.
9.
Kathryn Keve said that Social Concerns is still in the “wait and
see” mode and would like everyone to fill out the forms regarding
their own altruistic/community activities and interests.
No forms were turned in this Sunday.
10.
Michael said that Ed Sheridan is working on the details of having our
name officially changed with the State to “Agate Passage Friends
Meeting.”
Most
people could not stay any longer and the meeting adjourned at 1pm

Minute
regarding Isolated Friends Joining the Pacific Northwest Quarterly
Meeting
Agate
Passage Monthly Meeting approves making membership in the Religious
Society of Friends available to geographically isolated Friends
through the Pacific Northwest Quarterly Meeting.
We accept the increased responsibility this represents to Agate
Passage Monthly Meeting to serve on Quarterly Clearness Committees and
other duties. We have
concern about the notion of creating a restriction on the number of
applications for membership to Quarterly that can be received during
any year.
Closing
Note: Following our
regular Meeting for Worship, we were saddened to learn that Elizabeth
Zwick has been diagnosed with leukemia.
