Opening:
Judy Brown read a query from Faith and Practice followed by a period of
silence for reflection and contemplation. How do we prepare our hearts and
minds for worship? Do we meet in expectant waiting for the prompting of
the Divine Spirit? Is there a living silence in which we are drawn
together by the power of god in our midst? Is this inspiration? carried
over into our daily living? Is the vocal ministry exercised under the
leading of the Holy Spirit without prearrangement, and in the simplicity
and sincerity of truth? As we listen, or as we speak, are we guided by the
Inward Light and sensitive to one another’s needs. Are we careful not to
speak at undue length or beyond our light?

Brinton’s Guide to Quaker Practice is available from the
library. The cost is $3.75. It was decided that the voluntary phone list/
phone tree in which Friend’s and members can touch base with each other on
a routine basis should be separate from the Medical Committee and the
Ministry and Counsel Committee. It was suggested that Jim Meadow’s could
pursue the idea and determine if there is an interest in establishing such
a list.
Final Affairs form can be obtained from the Ministry and
Counsel Committee. The form can also be downloaded from the website. The
entire form does not need to be filled out. Michael Moore has the list of
members who have turned in their form.
